Hey, Your logo doesn’t really look like you!

I will be the first one to admit that the sophisticated cartoon-like image in the Traveling Tanya logo doesn’t look exactly like me. You might even say she looks nothing like me!

I realize that. Believe me, I scoured tons of images when designing my logo and put a lot of thought and time into this little gem.  And I LOVE her! Not because she looks so much like me, but because she LOOKS like how I FEEL when I think about travel and sharing my travel experiences with others.

She is sophisticated, stylish, and ready for an adventure.

She has been to some exciting places already, but she has so many more destinations to explore. She has a few curves in her feminine form, some poof in her hair…and sensible shoes for the journey!

In case you are curious, I created the Traveling Tanya logo myself with Canva, and some very helpful feedback from my family and fellow aspiring bloggers I met online.

Canva is a graphic-design website that easily allows you to drag and drop photos, images, and fonts to create all kinds of professional looking products. Canva also has an app so you can really design on the go.

There are so many images to choose from, its amazing that this self-diagnosed procrastinator ever made a final decision!

But like I said, I LOVE her!

While the woman in the Traveling Tanya logo is me, or at least the ideal version of me as a world traveler, I also created an avatar.

My avatar is Sandy.

I don’t have an actual physical image created for Sandy as she embodies so many women. I write my blog with Sandy in mind, and she keeps me focused on what I truly want to accomplish with this blog…to inspire other women to experience the joy of travel.

I chose the name Sandy because it includes some letters from both of my daughter’s names (Samantha and Danielle). It also happens to be the name of a colleague I know casually, who told me just the other day that seeing my recent trip to Paris on Facebook inspired her to go…and she had a marvelous trip! Sandy is exactly why I created Traveling Tanya.

Sandy, my avatar, is somewhere between 30-50 years old, and she is a busy lady. She is working and raising a family and balancing the day-to-day tasks of life. But she also dreams of traveling. Yet lack of time and money often creep into Sandy’s dreams. She tends to live vicariously as she sees other people enjoy amazing vacations. However, she longs to be the one sharing her fabulous vacation photos on Facebook.  She just needs a little push and some inspiration.

Sandy…meet Traveling Tanya.
