Tanya in Venice
Travel Tips

Who is Traveling Tanya?

Just in case you have been wondering exactly who Traveling Tanya is, I’ve got some answers for you!

I was recently interviewed by another travel blogger about my travel experiences, and I wanted to share a portion of that interview with my own followers.

I hope learning a bit more about my passion for travel will help increase your own desire to make travel a priority!

A Portion of Traveling Tanya’s Interview with Midlands Traveller

MT: When did you start to be interested in traveling?

TT: I can recall numerous family vacations as a child and have always enjoyed exploring new places. But it was in the spring of 2016 when I took a whirlwind trip to Europe that we were officially bitten by the travel bug!

We planned 5 cities in just 10 days thinking this would be our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe, and we wanted to make the most of it. The travel bug took hold on that trip and now we plan as much travel as our budget and vacation days will allow.

MT: What is your favorite place (travel destination) in the world? Why?

TT: Venice is my favorite city in the world! I have only been once, but hope to return soon. I had dreamed of going to Italy for many years before I finally made it happen in 2016. I had a vision of what Venice would be like, and it was even more enchanting than I had anticipated.

I fell in love with the winding lanes, bridges, canals, and colorful waterfront buildings.  The lack of cars on the island makes it so pleasant and quaint, yet it is still so easy to navigate. I loved just getting lost in Venice and discovering new hidden shops and restaurants.

I think everyone should see Venice at least once!

MT: Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring travelers?

TT: The most important advice I can give aspiring travelers is not to put off traveling! You may never have enough money saved up or feel that you have time to get away, but life is short. If you put off travel it may never happen.

I think it is important to travel while you are still young enough and healthy enough to navigate through all the amazing destinations on this globe. Make the time now to prioritize travel and make memories with your loved ones. Most people regret the trips they never took, not the ones they did take.

MT: How have your travels changed you?

TT: Seeing different parts of the world has given me a greater perspective on life and a deeper appreciation for everything I have. I am fortunate to be able to travel on a regular basis, and I don’t take that for granted!

Being able to see how people live in other parts of the world provides a unique opportunity to look at my own lifestyle and remember there is more than one way to live, and that helps me understand and appreciate our differences.
