6 Reasons Why the Philippines Is One Of Asia’s Best

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to travel to other countries, you’re fortunate enough to witness the beauty of a nation in each of your trips, including its natural wonders, people, and culture.

As you take in the surroundings, you can appreciate what the country has to offer. During these times, you sometimes can’t help but compare them to what you have and perhaps even what you lack.

If we’re talking about a go-to destination with a rich and diverse culture, there is no country like this beautiful little island nation tucked in the southeast corner of Asia.

The Philippines is one of Asia’s best countries to visit for a number of awesome reasons. The country boasts of stunning picturesque locations, diverse culture and friendly people among others. To give you the best reasons why you’ll want to visit this lovely country, here are some of what the Philippines is known for:

  1. Its people

Filipinos are world-renowned for their hospitality. And when you get the chance to interact with the locals, you’ll soon find out this is true. They are some of the friendliest people on the planet. They’ll even go out of their way to accommodate guests and gladly deliver with their genuine smile.

When you are a guest at their home, they would usually throw a party, with an all-night karaoke session while they try to stuff you with all the delicious food that keeps coming out of the kitchen.

The Philippines is also the only country to be recognized as the most gender equal nation in Asia. This is huge in terms of giving equal opportunities to women that could lead to economic success. This is the reason why more women are being recognized in their own fields across various industries.

  1. Its pristine beaches and breathtaking locations

The Philippines is an archipelago that boasts of some of the most pristine beaches in the world. In fact, three islands frequently land on the top 15 best islands in the world for Travel + Leisure and three in Asia for Conde Nast Traveler.

The famed island of Boracay appears on both lists and this is no surprise to all the tourists who have paid a visit. After its recent rehabilitation, the water is now clearer than ever, which goes perfectly with the powder-fine sand.

Palawan has also made it on both lists, being home to the otherworldly Underground River in Puerto Princesa, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. That distinction alone makes it worth the trip. You’ll be able to take a guided tour into a section of the river that will leave you in awe of how magical the place is.

The beaches and lagoons on the little islands scattered across El Nido and Coron are utterly divine. The white sand and crystal-clear waters amid the backdrop of karsts and limestone rock formations are nothing like you’ve ever seen in the world. Taking a dip is simply a marvelous experience.

Apart from the beaches, there are many historical sites, mountain resorts, and grandiose sceneries that you can never get enough of. You’ll need more than a few days to even get a glimpse of what’s in store for you.

  1. Its delicious food

With various influences from colonial rule combined with cultural diversity, the culinary scene in the Philippines is like no other. There are a wide variety of dishes, with different versions of some in every region across the country. There are those specializing in different meats, with many also serving delicious seafood. Filipinos pride themselves with their exquisite cooking, so food is one of the reasons why you should go visit.

  1. There is no language barrier

When the country was under American colonial rule, the Americans had a huge influence in its education system. Its people were injected with Western culture and adapted the English language, making the locals, at the very least, understand and speak conversational English.

When you come visit, you won’t have a hard time engaging the locals in conversation. With their friendly nature, you’ll surely have a blast interacting with them.

  1. Its inexpensive lifestyle

The cost of living in the Philippines is relatively cheap compared to other Asian countries, but this doesn’t compromise the comfort and quality of life since the country is still one of the best retirement destinations in Asia. The cost of real estate, food, and vehicles are so affordable. Even foreign students study here for the more affordable quality education.

  1. Its warm tropical climate

Who wouldn’t want to enjoy staying in a country that has almost year-round sunshine? If you’ve been living in a cold country where it’s winter for most of the year, you’ll find the Philippines a soothing paradise. Combined with the stunning island destinations you can visit, it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience to pay the country a visit.

The Philippines was given the sobriquet ‘Pear of the Orient Seas’ for its beauty and magnificence. And once you pay a visit, you will realize why it is so. It’s one of the best countries in Asia for its warm people, there’s no language barrier since almost everybody speaks and understands English, and you’ll get great value for the money.

With its stunning beauty, there are still vast areas that remain unexplored, so if you’re looking for one of the best countries in Asia, look no further. The Philippines is one of the best on that list.
