Fall in Love with Hendricks County, Indiana

Fall is my favorite time of year! And there is so much to love about fall in Hendricks County, Indiana.

I may be a bit biased since I live in Hendricks County. But even when I can’t travel far from home I’m always discovering new places, experiences, and food to love right in my own backyard.

The Midwest is where it’s at when you want to experience all that the fall season has to offer. Hendricks County sits just west of Indianapolis and serves up a healthy dose of Hoosier Hospitality all season long.

Colorful leaves, a chill in the air, family-friendly outdoor activities, and sweet treats spiced just right for the season.

That’s why you should add Hendricks County, Indiana to your travel bucket list!

These are just a few of my favorite fall finds in Hendricks County:

Beasley’s Orchard in Danville, Indiana

Nothing says fall like a visit to the pumpkin patch!

Beasley’s Orchard offers themed activities and produce perfect for fall. Go for a hayride and pick your own prized gourd. The whole family will enjoy getting lost in the corn maze.

Browse the Farm Market for numerous variety of apples, seasonal produce, and delicious baked goods. Don’t forget to stop by the Cider Bar for a refreshing glass of my favorite fall beverage.

Beasley’s cider was voted 2020 Best Apple Cider in Indiana!

Visit Beasley’s Orchard website for full details on their seasonal festivities, prices, and hours.

Arbuckle Acres in Brownsburg, Indiana

If you enjoy the crisp air and the crunch of leaves beneath your feet, then fall in Indiana is the perfect time to enjoy a stroll through nature. Hendricks County has a plethora of parks and trails to explore.

One of my favorite trails can be found in Arbuckle Acres Park in Brownsburg, Indiana. Even my high-strung mutt can’t resist a walk on this 1 mile paved walking trail!

Walk, jog, or run through the towering trees, past the flowing creek, and over the bridge as you admire the sights and sounds of autumn all around. No matter your speed, it will be time well spent in nature.

Fall is in the air!

Scarecrow Display in Danville, Indiana

Park the car and walk around the Courthouse Square in Danville to admire the festive scarecrow displays.

Each year the lawn around the Hendricks County Courthouse Square is adorned with creative scarecrow displays designed by local organizations and businesses. With more than 20 scarecrow setups with themes ranging from frightening, punny, mission-focused, and kid-friendly, there is something for everyone in your clan to enjoy.

See which imaginative exhibits took home the top prize this year and let your family members determine their own winners.

Plan your visit to Hendricks County in October to check out this annual display.

Two Chicks Whisky Business in Plainfield, Indiana

A picture is worth a thousand words…

fall desserts

Fortunately, a picture isn’t worth a thousand calories! However, these sweet fall treats from Two Chicks Whisky Business will cost you a few extra calories. But they are so worth it.

These chicks know how to bake!

Pop into this Plainfield bakery early in the day because the word has gotten out, and they are known to sell out before closing time. The menu changes daily and includes more tasty options than your waistline will be able to withstand. (That’s why I mentioned the walking trails first. Earn those extra calories!!)

S’mores cheesecake…yes!

Peanut butter cookies…please!

Mini pumpkin bundt cakes, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, peach cobbler…I could go on and on.

Instead, let me wipe the drool from my chin, and remind you to head to Hendricks County, Indiana for all kinds of fall fun!
